Kids Playing with Lego

The CPEF

The Centre de la petite enfance et de la famille (CPEF) is a fun place where parents and children can spend time together—in French!

You’ll find a wide range of parent-child programs and resources that meet the needs of francophone children from birth to six years old.

These centres are located across Manitoba in 16 schools within the Division scolaire franco-manitobaine (DSFM).

The programming and services offered by CPEF focus on the positive development of children from birth to six years old and their families. CPEF programs equip parents—the child’s first educators—in areas such as:

  • Literacy and numeracy

  • Health and well-being

  • Early childhood development

  • Socialization

  • Cultural identity

  • Linguistic vitality

  • Support for multilingual (exogamous) families

CPEF centres also support nursery schools, child care centres and Mini-franco-fun groups.

CPEF centres are managed by the Coalition francophone de la petite enfance du Manitoba. The Coalition is led by a committee made up of the Fédération des parents de la francophonie manitobaine (FPFM), the Division scolaire franco-manitobaine (DSFM), the Société de la francophonie manitobaine (SFM) and Enfants en santé Manitoba.
